Earl W. McMichael, 90, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home. He was born August 27, 1924, in Corwin, Kansas, to the late Walter and Mary (Hoch) McMichael.

He graduated from Anthony High School in 1942. He was drafted into the Army Air Corps for service during World War II shortly after. He was a tail gunner on a B24 Liberator and flew 30 missions. Earl W. McMichael, 90, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home. He was born August 27, 1924, in Corwin, Kansas, to the late Walter and Mary (Hoch) McMichael.

He graduated from Anthony High School in 1942. He was drafted into the Army Air Corps for service during World War II shortly after. He was a tail gunner on a B24 Liberator and flew 30 missions. After being discharged, he enrolled at Kansas University, enrolled in the ROTC, and graduated in 1950 with a degree in Chemistry. While at Kansas University, he met Florence and they were married. He worked in Kansas for a pharmaceutical company. During that time he was recalled for service for about a year during the Korean War. After his discharge he secured a position with Abbott Laboratories as a drug representative for Evansville and the surrounding areas. He worked for Abbott for 34 years. He was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ. He was also a charter member of Hamilton Golf Club. He loved golf and was proud of winning the match play tournament at Oak Meadow Country Club. He was a member of the Southwest Indiana Pharmaceutical Association. He was a very devoted husband and was very proud of his sons and grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Terry McMichael; his sister, Lorraine Messner; nephew, Stanley Messner; and great-grandchild Mackson Sitterding.

He is survived by his wife Florence; sons, Gregory (Carol) of Evansville, Eric (Linda) of Newburgh, and Christopher of Bloomington; granddaughters, Erica McMichael and Sherri Fairchild both of Evansville; great-grandchildren, Valerie Fairchild, Kyler Fairchild, and Heath McMichael; and brother Charles (Gay) McMichael of Newton, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 6400 Oak Hill Road with burial in Bethlehem Church Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road.
