George Otto Krietemeyer, 80, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, on his 80th birthday, at Parkview Care Center. He was born September 14, 1936, in Evansville.

He graduated from Reitz High School in 1954 and from the University of Evansville in 1973. George served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Crescent/Cresline/Wabash Plastics where he served as controller for 33 years. He was the first clerk treasurer for the town of Darmstadt, serving for 20 years. George Otto Krietemeyer, 80, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, on his 80th birthday, at Parkview Care Center. He was born September 14, 1936, in Evansville.

He graduated from Reitz High School in 1954 and from the University of Evansville in 1973. George served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Crescent/Cresline/Wabash Plastics where he served as controller for 33 years. He was the first clerk treasurer for the town of Darmstadt, serving for 20 years. George was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Darmstadt. He was very active in his church including serving as church treasurer for many years. He belonged to LLL (Lutheran Layman's League). George also served as treasurer for his 1954 Class Reunion committee for over 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing clabber, square dancing, and traveled to all 50 states.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Mathilda Krietemeyer; sister, Ruth Bittner (surviving husband, Mel); brother, Raymond "Bud" Krietemeyer (surviving wife, Helen), and nephew, Ron Krietemeyer (surviving wife, Karen).

George is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Neuber Krietemeyer; sons, David "Dave" Krietemeyer (Keri) of Darmstadt and Gregory "Greg" Krietemeyer (Diana) of Studio City, CA; granddaughter, Lindsey Nicole Dick (Bryan); grandson, Cody David Krietemeyer; brother, Donald "Don" Krietemeyer (Barbara) of Ft. Smith, AR, and nieces and nephews.

George's family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Care Center for their kindness and care.

Funeral Services will be11:00AM, Monday, September 19, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church Darmstadt, 1401 W. Boonville-New Harmony Rd., officiated by Pastor Stan Temme, with burial in Trinity Lutheran Darmstadt Cemetery. Friends may visit 1:00PM to 6:00PM, Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd. and Monday from 10:00AM to service time at the church.
